The On-Time Circus
Summer 2016 Tour of “The On-Time Circus”
This summer tour is approaching, and there are two phases.
Phase 1: Paulino Brener and Margo McCreary will be streamlining the show into a 2-person show for a two week tour to the Plum Creek Library System in Southwestern Minnesota. We will be doing 18 shows in two weeks! We will have recorded music. We just had a recording session with the expert help of Marya Hart, composer and pianist, Bruce Wintervold, percussionist, and Dan Rein, recording master. Soon Paulino and Margo will start working with the music to figure out how to work it seamlessly into the action.
We also have a 2-person show on June 21st at the Walker Library in Uptown, Minneapolis, at 10:30 am.
Phase 2: We will tour the full show with live music for 8 shows in St. Paul “passive parks”. What is a passive park, you might ask? It is a park that has little or no programming, and very little infrastructure. It is a perfect place for our self-contained puppet trailer with solar panels to set up. We received a Community Arts Grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council to do this tour and are collaborating with St. Paul Parks and Recreation. We also got some financial support from The Midway Men’s Club.
The On-Time Circus
Ms. Tock has set out with her feisty dog, a flock of talented chickens, and tagalong mice in her quirky little trailer assembled from pieces of her past! Together they have a circus to perform. This is not just any circus; this circus is On-Time! Ms. Tock studied time with her beloved Grandfather Clock, and now even Grandfather Clock has a timely circus act! There is just one catch, and that has the fate of the On-Time Circus up in the air!
The On-Time Circus is up to-the-minute fun for family audiences! Puppets, clowning, live music, and songs make this show a must see.
Margo is animating puppets, Paulino Brener is playing Ms. Tock, Marya Hart wrote songs and plays music for the show, Bruce Wintervold will be percussionist for the tour. Susan Munson, pianist, stands in for Marya now and again. Willis Bowman designed and built the puppet trailer houses the tour of The On-Time Circus!
